Thrifty Saturday: Terracotta goodness.

Hellllloo friends, how was your Saturday? Mine was the usual mix of errands and fun. Did I mention fun?--Oh yes, and it involved thrifting!- I had some extra time to myself and went browsing in the local goodwill today. Guess who came home with me?

This little beauty....(click for a larger picture)

Terracotta with ceramic glaze on the inside, in perfect condition. For less that $2. Score!!! I should have taken some pictures from the side- it is shallow and shaped like an "urli". Now the question is...what should I use it for--any suggestions, oh great denizens of the decor blogosphere?

Terracotta

Today I would like to share with you another one of my enduring loves- terracotta. Being a true-blue Indian, I think it is in my genetic makeup to covet all things terracotta. So here are some interesting ways to bring terracotta to your home....

How lovely would this little horse look nestled amongst some greenery (could be indoors or out).

How about a giant vase? I feel one huge statement vase like this would fill up a corner beautifully. A few bamboo stalks (available here), maybe a small spotlight and...magic! Though this vase certainly needs no additional drama.

India abounds with terracotta crafts- from hanging bells to figurines like the one pictured above. A few inspiring images from the web....

How cute is this terracotta matki (pot) found here on etsy?

Do you like love terracotta as much as I do? I would love to see some pics! :)
