December, already?

Really? Snow on my doorstep, nip in the air, carols on the radio, lights up on lamp posts and trees ....yes, it's beginning to look a lot like December. Where did the year go?---I can't believe we're almost at the end of 2010 already--do you feel that way? If you do, know that this is a good feeling to have, time only drags on interminably when things suck aren't going well..... So yes, I heaved a sigh of relief when this realization dawned on me today. And I have you to thank for this feeling---for being there, reading along, your support, those comments that made me laugh out loud and for those that made me cry, too! This year has been a mixed bag for us, full of change and surprises, the good the bad and the ugly. BUT, the journey has been so much fun because I made this truckload of friends, from all walks of life, all corners of the world (blogger tells me that someone out there reads my blog in Poland, in Japan and in Trinidad!! --Dziekuje, Dōmo arigatō and  Gracias!)......you made 2010 fly past in the blink of an eye. :)


So long story short, 2010 is on the way out. Me? I'm just happy to be looking toward 2011. How about you?


I can't very well leave you without a picture--I'm still waiting for a sunny day to take some pictures of Christmas decorations around the house, but till then, I hope you will enjoy the possibilities I see in this one....

A cleaned out soup can + a glued on piece of fabric= a gorgeous new vase. This awesome vase would be such an easy DIY if  only I had a roll of Kutchi/Gujrati-embroidered borders. Do you have any sitting around at home with you? no? how about a sleeve of an old kurta? Dupatta? That blouse you'll never wear again? Did you know it could get a new lease on life and return as something stunning? You know that disclaimer they put out before all the dangerous stunts on TV? Well kids, I really hope you'll try this at home..... :)

Though I have been known to use fabric to cover ovaltine cans, they are nowhere near as stunning as the picture above. I just used the picture to illustrate a point.
