So long story short, 2010 is on the way out. Me? I'm just happy to be looking toward 2011. How about you?
I can't very well leave you without a picture--I'm still waiting for a sunny day to take some pictures of Christmas decorations around the house, but till then, I hope you will enjoy the possibilities I see in this one....

A cleaned out soup can + a glued on piece of fabric= a gorgeous new vase. This awesome vase would be such an easy DIY if only I had a roll of Kutchi/Gujrati-embroidered borders. Do you have any sitting around at home with you? no? how about a sleeve of an old kurta? Dupatta? That blouse you'll never wear again? Did you know it could get a new lease on life and return as something stunning? You know that disclaimer they put out before all the dangerous stunts on TV? Well kids, I really hope you'll try this at home..... :)
xoxo,
G
[Edited to add: I noticed that some of my readers presumed this was my work. This is not my DIY. Though I have been known to use fabric to cover ovaltine cans, they are nowhere near as stunning as the picture above. I just used the picture to illustrate a point. The credits for the picture are placed below it, as always. My apologies for the confusion!]
True, I still remember planning last year's new years and its December already.
ReplyDeleteI am sure you have readers all over the world. If you have not noticed, your blog is pretty popular and there are sound reasons why.

ReplyDeleteHonestly.. I'll do anything for a little snow.. but just a little.. *wink* A warm hug coming your way..
ReplyDeleteI am ready to tackle 2011 with Gagan.
ReplyDeleteI have been known to use soup cans as vases (even without covering them with anything). For Thanksgiving I did a lovely arrangement in a large pumpkin can. Practical and kind of quirky. Smile.
Very Very innovative and this just adds that extra sparkle to the room
ReplyDeleteTime is flying away ... really really fast!
ReplyDeleteI like draping old saris to divide rooms, or add the impression that a room is 'deeper' or larger too.
ReplyDeletevery very beautiful

ReplyDeleteDear all, That isn't MY DIY...it's a picture I posted from another blog "a creative mint". I was trying to use it to illustrate a point, just realized that some of my readers may have mistaken it for my work.
ReplyDeleteIt isn't.
